John Baggott Composer Producer Musician

Album Covers

John is a regular collaborator, writer and performer with seminal bands Massive Attack and Portishead and composed and recorded Grammy nominated albums with Robert Plant and the Strange Sensation.

He is a multi-instrumentalist and writes and produces for many musical genres ranging from classical (piano & string arrangements for feature films and major recording artists) to more traditional acoustic, (drawing from jazz, world & folk) to experimental (coaxing dark soundscapes from an array of vintage Moogs, tape echoes and Wurlitzer pianos, pushing computers to their limits with warped loops, beats and distorted filters).

His wide-screen atmospherics are naturally cinematic and he’s worked on feature films such as Danny the Dog, (with Massive Attack) Creep and Love and Death on Long Island as well as Emmy award-winning soundtracks for TV documentaries. He also composed music for Nicholas Roeg’s film Sound and various TV productions.
